What to expect at your first aesthetic consultation
What happens at a first consultation, what to bring, and the questions worth asking before any treatment begins.

A first consultation is a conversation, not a sales appointment. Its purpose is to understand what you would like to change, why it is happening, and which options suit your skin, your timeline and your budget. You should leave with a clear plan, or with the confidence to wait.
Before you arrive
It helps to bring a few things with you:
- A list of medicines you take, including supplements and any recent courses such as isotretinoin.
- The skincare products you use, or photos of their labels.
- Any previous reports, prescriptions or notes from other clinics.
If you can, arrive without heavy makeup so your skin can be examined properly.
During the consultation
Our aesthetic experts will ask about your concern, how long you have had it and what you have already tried. They will also ask about your health, pregnancy or plans for pregnancy, allergies and lifestyle, because these affect which treatments are safe for you.
Then comes a close look at your skin, hair or body, sometimes with magnification or a digital skin analysis. For hair fall, this usually includes trichoscopy, and sometimes blood tests.
Your plan
A good plan is written down. It should tell you:
- Which treatments are suggested, and why.
- How many sessions are likely, and how far apart.
- What downtime to expect.
- The full cost, before you begin.
It is fine to take the plan home and think about it. It is also fine to ask for a simpler option.
Questions worth asking
- What is causing my concern?
- What results are realistic for my skin?
- What are the risks and side effects?
- What happens if I stop treatment?
If something does not feel right, ask again. Clear answers are part of good care.
