What is Mandelic peel?

Mandelic acid has a larger molecule, so it penetrates slowly and evenly. This makes it a careful choice for acne and pigmentation in darker skin tones.

Who it is for

How it works

  1. 1

A consultation to choose the peel and its strength, sometimes with a short skin-preparation phase at home.

  2. 2

The skin is cleansed and degreased.

  3. 3

The peel is applied and timed, then neutralised or removed.

  4. 4

Soothing care and sunscreen, with aftercare to take home.

Aftercare

  • Expect light flaking for a few days with some peels; let it shed naturally.
  • Use a gentle cleanser, a plain moisturiser and sunscreen.
  • Avoid scrubs, waxing, saunas and direct sun for a week.

Tell us first if

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Active cold sores, infection or broken skin on the area
  • Recent isotretinoin course

Questions, answered

Will my skin peel visibly?

It depends on the peel. Lighter peels may cause no visible peeling; deeper peels shed over several days. Our aesthetic experts will tell you what to expect for yours.

Are peels suitable for Indian skin?

Yes, when the peel and strength are chosen for your skin type. Some peels are preferred for darker skin because they carry a lower risk of pigmentation.
