HydraFacial vs medi-facial: which suits your skin?
How a HydraFacial and a customised medi-facial differ, and how to choose between them for your skin and your calendar.

Both treatments are clinical facials with no downtime, and both can leave the skin looking fresh and hydrated. The difference lies in how they work and how much they can be adapted.
HydraFacial
A HydraFacial follows a set sequence using one device: cleansing and exfoliation, a mild acid to loosen debris, gentle suction extraction, then infusion of hydrating and antioxidant serums. Because the steps are consistent, it is predictable, and it suits most skin types, including sensitive skin.
It is a good choice when your skin feels congested, dull or dehydrated, or when you want a reliable result before an event.
Medi-facial
A medi-facial is built on the day. After a look at your skin, the steps and products are chosen for what it needs: calming for redness, decongesting for breakouts, brightening for dullness, or hydration for dryness. It may include a light peel, LED or a mask.
It is a good choice when your skin changes with the season or your cycle, or when you have a specific concern you would like to focus on.
How to choose
- Congestion and blackheads: a HydraFacial is often the more effective cleanse.
- Sensitivity or redness: a calming medi-facial may be gentler.
- Before an event: either works. Book two to five days ahead.
- As a monthly ritual: many people alternate the two.
